Perspective from a photographer...

One of my bride's sent me this article and I loved it so much that I decided to post it in my blog!  I love this photographer's perspective and passion for why she does what she does.  Enjoy!

How it all began...

I haven't ALWAYS been the organized girl you see today!  When I was 8 years old, there was a stench coming from my closet that you wouldn't believe!  Once I dug down to the bottom, I found the culprit - a rotten banana...YUCK!  And from that day forward, I decided I like things clean, organized and stench free...true story!

Okay, so I had a mom who taught me well and kept our home immaculate at all times.  Who am I kidding, I am pretty sure I was born this way...I just had a couple of small set backs in my early years :)  The point is I am who I am and that just happens to be a super organized and borderline OCD (the good kind of OCD!) person.  I run a pretty tight ship at our house - just ask the kids.  I have pretty much always been this way.  But I haven't always been interested in wedding and event planning.

I had the opportunity to manage my first event several years ago when I was working for a local mega-church.  It was love at first spreadsheet!  The planning of each intricate detail would drive some people crazy, but not me.  I loved it!  I loved thinking through every possible scenario and figuring out systems to ensure that the event went off without a hitch!  It was after my first major event that I decided that I could really do this on a day-to-day basis.  I eventually started coordinating weddings at the church and soon began to have friends ask me to do their weddings at other venues.  I worked for the church for several more years before moving on to a little less demanding job as my husband and I opened a coffee shop in Canyon, TX.  I could not have asked for a better training ground than my event coordinator position at the church.  Even after leaving my job there I continued to do a few weddings here and there as my crazy schedule allowed.

My husband, Patrick and I have had our business in Canyon for about a year and a half now.  It is running like a machine (thanks to him)!  I think the entrepreneur in Patrick rubbed off on me and I began to dream.  I have always thought in the back of my mind that it would be great to have a business where I could plan events and weddings because it is such a passion of mine.  And I am in a great place in my life to go for it!  So, here I am, taking the leap!  I am excited to see what the future holds.

You can consider my services for everything from wedding and party planning to organizing that closet you've been putting off for a year! I hope you will consider sitting down with me and allowing me to help you with any planning needs you may have.
